PNOY has finally chosen a “presidentiable” for the administration, and it’s Interior Secretary Mar Roxas. One gets this feeling that votes were not the issue for this choice. In case you’ve already forgotten, Mr. Frozen had more votes than Roxas when they both ran for the vice presidency in 2010. That’s the reason Mr. Frozen is now the country’s incumbent vice president.

Mr. Frozen’s recent ranking in survey results may not have been as high as the way it used to be, no thanks to all these plundering, grafting and corrupting allegations against him and his family, but still, he remains popular among the madlang pehpohl who are the major major contributors to the millions of votes presidentiables will desperately need in 2016.

Mr. Frozen has remained confident that he will win amidst the trials and tribulations he and his family have been going through. He knows his presidential future is way much brighter than any of the wannabe presidentiables who are also eager to announce their plans now that they’re aware of who they’ll be running against.

PNoy should have picked Sen. Grace Poe but it was Roxas, and not Poe, who gave up on his presidential ambitions in 2010 to let PNoy shine, so this could be a way of saying “thank you” for the sacrifice.

There’s chika that Roxas’ wife is the happiest person in Pinas nowadays since, finally, he’s running for president and not for vice president. And there are Pinoys who are probably wishing now that they could vote for their choice of First Lady.

How can a Pinoy ignore the First Lady? She sometimes has the role of renovating her hubby’s office, and the park, and that area by the river. Despite the rumors about her hubby’s “extra-curricular activities,” it’s always advisable to stay by his side for, after all, she’s still the official First Lady no matter how many other women have been rumored to catch his fancy.

The bachelor PNoy has fortunately escaped from that kind of rumor. If there’s one problem that his public relations machinery has to deal with in his romance department, it’s how to keep those romantic rumors going so that Pinoys would always suspect he’s not deprived and alone in this oh-so-cruel world. Imagine going home to that palace by the river, only to be met by the yaya who’s always ready to whip up a meal for him or a hundred people at a moment’s notice. And this is a president whose appetite is so easy to please. His favorite food: corned beef.

After the election in 2016, the palace won’t be as quiet as it is now. The two presidentiables and the wannabes are married, with Roxas as the only candidate with one child while the others have gone forth and multiplied. The advantage of PNoy over the past presidents is he doesn’t have a meddling wife and spoiled kids who have their own agenda that could ruin his career. But once the “ruin” does start to happen, there’s the PR machinery again, churning out feel-good press releases for the whole family, as preventive medicine.

Or a designer could make the best mestiza dress for the senator-daughter so she could finally look great instead of resembling a hot air balloon hovering above the State of the Nation Address red carpet.

There are many strategies lurking under the armpits of PR people and lucky are those who could afford to pay for their talent fees.

Even the most reluctant future presidentiable, who has continued to say he’s not running, has TV ads starring him. Well, he could be referring to one TV ad where he’s driving a motorcycle, therefore, not literally running.

If Poe runs for president, it’s going to be her versus Mr. Frozen, with the others inhaling the dust they’ll leave behind as they zoom to the top two of the millions of votes Pinoys will gladly cast for them. PNoy has already made his choice, there won’t be any more surprises from hereon unless Manny Pacquaio will decide to also run for president.
Run pa more? Oh well.

If there’s anything more frozen in Mr. Frozen’s camp, it’s his smile which will be the widest ever in 2016. Only a miracle can erase that from his face by then.
