STARTING September 1, parking on the side of all roads within the Rodelsa Circle would be declared “no parking zones,” the chair of Task Force Hapsay Dalan (TFHD) and the Roads and Traffice Administration (RTA) said on Monday.

Parking within the declared zones will be not be allowed from 7 pm to 7am during Sundays. The new traffic rule is based on an Executive Order No. 070-15 issued by City Mayor Oscar Moreno.

The mayor’s EO is further strengthened with Barangay 1’s Barangay Resolution No. 009-2015 and upon the recommendation and support of RTA assistant department head Engr. Nonito Oclarit, TFHD chair Atty. Jose Edgardo Uy said.

The TFHD, RTA and the barangay chairs of Barangays 1, Nazareth, Macasandig and Carmen discussed the “no parking zones” declaration during their meeting on July 29 with the expressed goal of decongesting traffic from the city’s lone rotunda.

The no parking rule will be implemented in the nor-thern road from Fernandez street, the southern road from Biasong-Tinib road, eastern road from Tomas Saco street, and western road from Mastersons Avenue.

Uy said that Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) and the RTA will be the enforcing the new traffic rule. (pia 10)
