BALINGASAG, Misamis Oriental––Authorities caught the suspect in the rape and grisly killing of a child here over the weekend.
The suspect, Gilbert Labadan, a.k.a. Balang, 24, was arrested in his house along the Old Road in Barangay Waterfall here at around 7am on Sunday, said city police director Arnold Gaabucayan.
Labadan’s alleged victim was a three-year-old girl who was raped and killed on Saturday night.
Her body was found lying on a grassy knoll near her home, police investigation showed.
Police said the victim was already sleeping together with her brothers when her parents decided to take coffee in the market. When the couple returned home, after almost an hour, their daughter was already missing.
