JUDGING from the picture, the new Duaw Park is going to look good. Some P5 million was allegedly put to waste in a frantic move to silence a mouth. Despite the knowledge that the Jica project would soon commence and that it would destroy the Duaw Park, the project was still pursued. So much money to burn, I guess.

So, how much is it this time? I received word that Ms. Dottie Pabayo would like to speak with me to clarify things about the first P5-million Duaw Park project. The supposed meeting didn’t materialize due to the untimely demise of her husband.

Divisoria is a heritage landmark of our city. It was practically the city center three scores ago. Today, Divisoria needs a facelift but not necessarily the kind of facelift that happened to Gaston Park which is being questioned by our historians and heritage experts.

Why was Duaw, already in its second renovation or even Gaston Park given the priority when Divisoria could have been our showcase to the world?

May we hear from you, people at city hall’s tourism office?

First, it was reported that former vice mayor Antonio Soriano is running for councilor under Mayor Oscar Moreno. Now, it’s Bebot Rodriguez running in tandem with OSM. I certainly would like to hear it from the horse’s mouth.

Soriano denied it. Someone commented that it was just to test the waters. Ms. Rodriguez has yet to confirm or deny it.

Granting that it is true and Bebot will eventually come out in the open to declare it, would it be a good tandem?

Of course, Moreno needs Rodriguez like it was before. But there are always plus and minus factors depending on one’s political leaning. Most of Rodriguez’s supporters come from DongkoyEmano’sPadayon. They already signified earlier that if Rufus runs, they will be for Rufus. If it’s Dongkoy against Moreno, they will be for Dongkoy.

The pro-Rodriguez group may not be pro-Moreno today. Such alliance could turn some off.

So, do the math. I did mine already.

While having breakfast with friends at Circa on Sunday, we cannot help but talked about the bridge being constructed as can be seen right in front of us. Would it solve the flood that occurred almost at the instant of heavy downpour?

In a way, the entire width of the project would serve as a wall that would prevent water from getting back to Limketkai. Thus, the other side runs the risk of becoming a reservoir for rain water especially during high tide.

Remember Rodelsa during Sendong where a portion was heavily flooded because rainwater had nowhere to go? It practically became a water basin.

The same could happen to these areas and at the instant of heavy rain, Barangay 26, 22 and nearby areas could easily be flooded.

Of course, we’re no experts and we could be wrong.
