DIPOLOG City – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) conducted a “Financial Education Expo” Wednesday (Aug. 12) at the Top Plaza Hotel this city.

The program was participated in by the representatives from the different sectors in such as the city government of Dipolog, Association of Barangay Chairmen, provincial government of Zamboanga Del Norte, Department of Education (DepEd), Banking Community, Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (Dole), and the Dipolog of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.(DCCII).

Mr. Eduardo Morbida, acting deputy director and head of BSP-Ozamis Branch, said “the program will give insights and encourage participants to ask questions and explore our (BSP) financial market.’’

Various learning activities complete with audio-visual presentations, graphic displays, and interactive activities were given to the participants.

The outreach learning activities aimed to assess and determine the most appropriate approach to apply in handling financial concerns vis-a-vis the importance of financial education, financial regulators system, the basics of budgeting, saving, investing and borrowing, financial planning for life-cycle events, and credit card awareness. pia
