The 74-year old Emano was interviewed by broadcaster Sandy Bas during the former mayor’s weekly program “The Mayor’s Move” at Mellow Touch radio station. But instead of one hour, Emano was only on air for about 30 minutes.

“OK ra ko, wala koy problima bisan gamay,”said Emano, laughing. “Tanan nga gi-examine bahin sa ako maayo kaayo.” The Emano interview however left basic questions unanswered like what his ailment was.

Emano did not say exactly where he was while he was being interviewed by Bas although he strongly denied news reports (not by this paper) that he was airlifted to Manila.

He also denied that he was supposed to undergo stem cell treatment. Emano questioned earlier claims made by Padayon Pilipino spokesperson Councilor Alexander Dacer, saying he wondered where the councilor got the idea that he would undergo stem cell therapy.

“Dili nako na magahom. Grabi ka mahal nang stem cell. Aha man ko magkuha anang kuwarta?” he asked. Neither did Emano confirm nor deny during the radio interview that he was confined at the CUMC’s intensive care unit (ICU). The Gold Star Daily however received confirmation from the hospital’s admitting section itself that Emano was rushed to the hospital’s emergency room in the morning of Sept. 19, and then brought to the ICU the same day.

Emano did not say if he was still confined in the hospital or discharged, and he did not give details about the medical findings. He claimed he was merely subjected to a general check-up because as part of his preparations for his mayoral campaign. Emano said it was his children who “forced” him to undergo a general medical examination.
