darimbang   COUNCILOR Lourdes Darimbang yesterday said she would campaign for ex-mayor Vicente Emano’s bid to take back control of city hall next year to reciprocate for the Padayon Pilipino’s decision to adopt her as its candidate against Rep. Rolando Uy in the city’s 1st District.

But Darimbang said she would remain a supporter of Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer former Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II because her husband Mandangan “is with the government, and he is helping and supporting the administration presidential candidate.”

Darimbang’s husband is the regional director of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Darimbang said she has decided to stick it out with the LP because her husband is for Roxas “and then I also have to support him.”

Directors and employees of regional line agencies of government are not supposed to be partisan under civil service rules. the LTFRB rehional director has yet to comment about his wife’s revelations.

The councilor rejected talk she would swear in as a Padayon Pilipino member, saying she saw no need for her to join Emano’s party.

Darimbang also rejected Padayon Pilipino’s presidential bet, Vice President Jejomar Binay, but added she would campaign for Emano “as a gesture of kindness” and because Padayon Pilipino has decided to support her.

Darimbang said she was also looking forward to campaigning side by side with Emano and his group next year.

Last week, she said not one of the mayoral candidates would get her support.
