Egay Uy

LAST Easter evening, Juliet, Jeiu, OJ, Jojo and I watched Batman v. Superman at the LKKS Cinema 3 after a simple panihapon in a fastfood outlet in the mall.  Having dinner on Sundays has been a regular outing for us for years now.

This is not a critique about the movie but about the movie house – more particularly about how the movie house management failed to remember that a movie house is a place where people want to be entertained while watching a movie. That it is not a place where people go to be tortured.

Yes, the place was newly renovated and all. The three dimensional movie was entertaining. The sound system was superb. But the air conditioning was a torture. The thermostat setting must have been negative one hundred degrees. Or maybe it was not the movie house. Maybe it was me. But management should act fast on concerns raised by customers.

Whatever, it was my eldest son, Jeiu, who went to the entrance employee to request that the air conditioning be set to a warmer temperature because we were freezing. Minutes passed to no avail.

Then it was my turn to make the request a few minutes after. I noticed that the employees seemed not to know what to do with the situation. The guard called somebody but nothing was done which made me say, “This is a place where we are supposed to be entertained watching a movie, not tortured.”

Still more minutes passed and nothing new happened. It was Juliet’s time now to go down and ask the theater employees to stop the torture already. She was told, among other matters, that even the managers in the mall have already complained about the freezer but nothing has been done by management.  So?

I could only hope that the LKKS management seriously look into this matter. I paid good money for the movie but I could not understand it in its entirety because I was busy convincing myself that I was not inside a freezer.

The other movie houses may be a better destination next time.

Palihog lang mga bossing!
