BUTUAN City–Camp Crame is expecting a major revamp in the National Police soon.

National Police Director General Ricardo Marquez, who would retire this August, said the revamp would likely take place as soon as next PNP chief takes over.

Marquez said he does not know what to expect under the watch of his likely successor, saying they were not close. He said PNP chiefs always had different leadership styles.

Marquez was here on Monday to lead in the awarding of police officers.

Marquez awarded medals to police regional director Chief Supt. Rolando Felix, Senior Supt. Ernesto Flores provincial police directors, including Butuan’s police chief for their work during this month’s elections.

Awarded with the “Medalya ng Kadakilaan” were Regional Public Safety Battalion 13 commander Supt. Chito Bersaluna and three others for the arrest of New People’s Army leader Ricardo Manili a.k.a. Joker,  Caraga’s fourth most wanted person.

Felix also presented to Marquez guns that were confiscated by the police across Caraga during the election period.
