“YOU are my sunshine… Please don’t take my sunshine away.” These may just be a few lines from the whole song but the singer seems to be sending a message.

In a radio program, Oscar Moreno allegedly claimed that the Pimentels are going to help him with his problems with the Ombudsman. Nene Pimentel was present during Moreno’s oathtaking not just to make his presence felt but also to belt out a song to send a message: “Please don’t take my sunshine away.”

Maybe, Pimentel has not heard of Moreno’s darkside. Perhaps, Pimentel does not believe the stories. Or is it because Pimentel simply refuses to believe because he loves his “sunshine”?

What would that make of the PDP-Laban and the “change” that it boasts of? If there is an attempt to strengthen the party in the city, this “sunshine” may just jeopardize everything. Some known PDP-Laban stalwarts in the city are not pro-Moreno. They may opt to distance themselves.

PDP-Laban shone during the campaign period. I wonder if accepting the “balimgbings” is a prudent way of strengthening the party. For me, it pollutes the party.

Sen. Koko Pimentel’s rise to the Senate presidency is still uncertain. The elder Pimentel’s show of love for “sunshine” is turning off some would be PDP-Laban recruits. PDP in the city might just weaken as fast as it rose to prominence.

The greatest blow would be when the President would one day decide to form his own party just as Presidents before him did. If that happens, then say good-bye to the PDP-Laban.

Just hours after his oathtaking, news broke out that the Ombudsman has issued a suspension order against Moreno. Is this what former Taglimao barangay chairman William Guialani said about a series of Ombudsman decisions against Moreno? Is the plunder case next?

Somebody asked how much more money would be used to buy his way out. But why, did he?

Would Moreno survive all these cases against him?

Another case is about the checks that were allegedly issued in his name amounting to some P79 million, more or less.

Still, another is just waiting for the right moment.

Whew, it’s hot, Mr. Sunshine!

I was amused over the way one radio commentator mimics Dongkoy Emano. “I don’t give a $@#^. And I don’t give a d@#n.”

I don’t give a $@#^ and I don’t give a d@#n who sits as mayor of the city. If President Duterte is true to his words, no mayor would dare defy him, and no mayor would be able to undertake a government project without a transparent bidding process. Any project contractor conniving with government officials can be reported and become equally liable.

Citizens should be vigilant. Any citizen can now seek information from any government agencies and offices. Otherwise, call 888.

We just had our first taste of flood this year, and it occurred on a bridge in Carmen. It’s been the subject of a complaint but some people must have decided to sit on the complaint for unclear reasons.

It was not even a heavy rain, and it only lasted a few hours. What if the real thing comes and with it, a disaster? Who’s going to answer? Will somebody do something about it, please?

The city’s open area for absorbing rainwater is getting smaller and smaller. Where will all the rainwater go? The answer is very clear.
