THE City Government of Valencia has recently reeived an award for being the Most Economical in Operating a Depot during the 12th Annual Depot Assessment on July 8, 2016 at Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros Manila.

The award was given by the Procurement Service Central Office (PSCO) with Executive Director IV, Atty. Jose Tomas C. Syquia and was received by Valencia City Procurement Service Operations Manager Ms. Fe M. Mutia, RND, MPSM.

Mutia said that among 28 LGUs in the country, Valencia City was chosen to receive the prestigious award for its good procurement system and effective public expenditure management.

“This was the first time that the city garnered such award and having such only shows that under the procurement service we were able to gain higher income with less operating expenses,” Mutia added.

The creation of the Procurement Service provides the mandate for an integrated procurement system for the National Government and its instrumentalities.

It is the vision of the Procurement Service to be the central procuring agency for the National Government and extend its services down to the Regions and provinces with the establishment of depots and sub-depots in various regions and provinces in the Philippines.

Procurement Services Sub-Depot Bukidnon is under the Office of the President, Department of Budget and Management and is manned and operated by the City Government of Valencia under the City Budget Office through the City Budget Officer Jinny Q. Tiu, CPA, RN.

It is located at the New Terminal Complex, Hagkol, Poblacion, Valencia City, Bukidnon. pr
