THE League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Bukidnon Chapter on July 22, 2016 elected its new set of officers and board of directors at N Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

The newly-elected 2016-2019 officers are: President Mayor Leonardo Genesis T. Calingasan of Libona, Vice-President Mayor Ernie R. Devibar of Lantapan, Secretary Mayor Omaradji C. Pizarro of Kalilangan, Treasurer : Mayor Minerva C. Casinabe of Kibawe Auditor : Mayor Fruto B. Dandasan, Jr., of Dangcagan P.R.O: Mayor Jose Antonio A. Villo of Sumilao; Board of Directors: 1st District – Mayor Clive T. Quino, Manolo Fortich, 2nd District – Mayor Levi C. Edma, Sr., San Fernando, 3rd District Mayor Jerry O. Canoy, Kadingilan and 4th District Miguel A. Silva Jr., Pangantucan.

After the Election Committee declared the winners, the newly-elected officers took their Oath of Office, administered by outgoing President Osmundo N. Dela Rosa, Mayor of Malitbog.

Thereafter, the LMP Chapter proceeded with the first meeting presided over by the new LMP chapter president, Mayor Leonardo Genesis T. Calingasan.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the approval of the first resolution entitled, “A resolution requesting President Rodrigo R. Duterte through the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Ismael D. Sueno for the continuance of the Bottom-up Budgeting (BUB) Program.

As provided for in the Guidelines for the Election of LMP Provincial Chapter Officers for 2016-2019, the election shall be in the presence of at least one representative from the DILG as witness along with a representative of the LMP National Directorate. Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao, CESO V was invited to witness the proceedings.

In his solidarity speech, PD Colao thanked the LMP Bukidnon Chapter for giving the DILG the opportunity to witness the seamless conduct of the election. He concluded by saying that DILG is and will always be a partner of the LMP-Bukidnon in its undertakings and molding a chapter of the LMP that will be the most dynamic and productive provincial LMP in the country.
