Aguirre also ordered senior assistant regional prosecutor Merlynn Uy to serve as office-in-charge of the City Prosecutor’s Office in addition to her present duties and responsibilities in the Office of the Regional Prosecutor.

On his Facebook page, Macauyag posted: “To all prosecutors and support staff of OCP-CDO, thank you for your full support, cooperation and hard work for the office during my stint as CP for nine years. As I report to my new job at the Office of the Prosecutor General, I say to you: always keep up the good work.”

He called on prosecutors here to “apply the law with sense of conscience and justice, unperturbed by any outside influence, harassment suits from disgruntled litigants and intrigues.” (lito rulona)
