MISAMIS Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano over the weekend offered freed National Democratic Front (NDF) consultant Pedro “Ka Gongyong” Codaste a job when he returns to the country after the peace talks in Oslo, Norway.

Emano said the skill sets of the jailed consultants of the NDF “cannot be compared.”

The governor offered to give Codaste an “honorarium” should the latter accept.

At first, Codaste said he would think about the governor’s offer. However, Codaste insisted his principle “is not for sale.”

“Kung aha iplastar ang mga NPA (New People’s Army), if ever the long-term ceasefire will be realized,” he said, the NPA could be given a job as a protector of the environment.

“Kay anad man mi sa bukid. We support the fight against mining and the NPA has the capacity to do this.”

The Malaybalay city jail freed Codaste late last week after the Iglesia Filipina Independiente posted a P100-thousand bail for his multiple murder case.

Codaste has been in an isolated cell for almost six years.

“Dili ko makakita og tawo didto kung walay mulabay sa akong selda. Dili napud ko kakita og sunlight. Ayha ra if naa ko’y scheduled sunning,” Codaste said.
