Security measures and traffic plans are in place for the events that will highlight the city fiesta celebration of Cagayan de Oro.
City Police Director Senior Supt. Ronnie Francis Carriaga informed the City Council committee on police, fire and public safety chaired by Councilor Romeo Calizo that the deployment plan of police officers is ready. He said they will be manning areas where core events will be held. He added that Cocpo is coordinating with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) so that the entrance and exit points of the city will be secured by the police and military.
According to Carriaga, since most of the activities are concentrated in areas of Police Stations 1, 2 and 4, other police precincts will be augmenting their force. It was learned that the Cocpo will also be using K9 dogs and implementing other security measures during fiesta activities
For his part, Engr. Nonito Oclarit of the Roads and Traffic Administration (R TA) assured the committee that a traffic rerouting plan will be implemented. (clo)
