Reportedly, the judge’s family is closely being guarded by authorities following Salise’s ambush.

On Friday, Duterte announced during the National Biennial Summit in Women and Community Policing in Davao City that Judge Salise has been included in his new list. His speech was televised nationwide.

He alleged that the judge was into fixing and bungling of drug cases.

Salise is recuperating in a hospital following surgery as a result of his ambush. He suffered wounds in the head and shoulder, according to a police report.

Salise’s police aide, PO3 Eugene Narvasa, also survived the ambush. He was given an award by police director for Caraga Chief Supt. Rolando Felix for managing to bring the judge away from further harm by driving away from the gunmen.

Police have yet to identify suspects in the ambush or reveal what their motive was in the attempt on the judge’s life.

Salise was ambushed while he was riding a government-owned Toyota Innova vehicle bound to Bayugan City in Agusan del Sur from his Butuan house at around 7 am in Sept. 23.

Police said the ambush was staged by at least four persons armed with high-powered assault rifles and pistols. The suspects rode a Mitsubishi Montero vehicle.

Investigators said Salise and Narvasa were on Balanghay Road in Barangay Lemon when they were attacked. (ben serrano)
