Iligan City — Former city mayor Lawrence Cruz yesterday again denied involvement in the illegal drugs trade even as he apologized to City Police Director Senior Supt. Leony Roy Ga.

“I apologize to him if he is not really responsible on the matter,” Cruz said.

He added that because his name is being included in the “narco list,” all kinds of feelings have overcomed him—anger, frustration, sorrow, anxiety, specially for his family.

“Not so much for myself, but for my family,” he said. So he is exhausting all his efforts to clear  his name as he is not really involved in drugs.

“There could be some mystery in this,”  Cruz said.

Ga, for his part, said he himself is feeling some anxiety on the matter of the list, afraid that some of his men might be on the list, adding that right now, he is waiting for it and the directive on the matter. He said the names of said list does not have any confirmation but he, referring to Cruz confirmed it.

Earlier Cruz said he is the one being alluded to in the list, even if there were no family names there spoken by the President as “there is no other mayor”  here by that name.

The name of former representative Vicente Bel-monte, Jr. also did not have a family name mentioned.
