Allan “Datu Salagaan” Mandokita of Gingoog City has started his function as Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Misamis Oriental last Monday.
Mandokita accompanied by IPMR officials from some municipalities of this province including city councilor Estoriano Mandohinog IPMR of Gingoog City
“Karon adlawa (Dec. 19) magsugod na ko sa akong function isip IPMR sa Misamis Oriental,” Mandokita said
Mandokita and his group arrived at the provincial capitol building at aroumd 1:00 pm Monday.
But his (Mandokita) presence to attend session on Monday failed when session hall main entrance was padlock. Learned the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan was posponed for the Chrismas party activities of all SP members and staff held outside provincial capitol compound..
Sanggunian Bayan member Melanie Polinar IPMR Magsaysay Misamis Oriental said she was hoping that the majority members will recognize Mandokita as IP representative for the entire province.
“Wala man diay session karon mobalik mi sa Enero regular session diri sa panlalawigan sa Misamis Oriental,” Mandokita said.
Mandokita has served nine years as member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod representing indigenous peoples in the city of Gingoog from March 16, 2007 to April 2, this year.
Mandokita claimed that he was selected to represent to the provincial body by the consensus of 260 members of the Council of Elders of the indigenous people coming from Magsaysay to Lugait of Misamis Oriental through a selection process which happened on April 12 and 13, this year in Initao town.
