8th Infantry Battalion operation officer Capt. Noel Tominio admitted that Private First Class (PFC) Klintone Dalid of Agusan del Sur was a regular member of their unit and was previously assigned at Claveria, Misamis Oriental.

The officer said Dalid was temporarily assigned at Camp Edilberto Evangelista after Dalid figured in a motorcycle accident in Claveria sometime in November. Records show that he was considered as an outpatient inside the army hospital while he was still under medical treatment.

“We received report that he was involved in an alleged attempted rape and abduction and we immediately conducted our own investigation. Outpatient siya pero bakit nandoon siya sa isang club,” he said.

He said initially he administratively violated when he went to the club.

“We will imposing disciplinary action against army personnel who are reportedly involved in untolerable acts. Once napatunayan na nagkasala sila meron silang sanctions,” Tominio said.

The 8th IB would also conduct investigation for the possible identification of the other army officer who was with Dalid inside a club along Capistrano streets.

However, Chief Insp. Ryan Egualdo, deputy commander of Carmen police station said the victim is still undecided to file the formal charges against Dalid who allegedly tried to rape her inside Queensland Hotel along Barangay Kauswagan.

Dili kami maka-file og kaso if the victim is hesitant to file formal charges,” he said.

Both the victim and the suspect soldier had initially talked regarding the alleged rape attempt at the police station. After the dialogue, the complainant said she is still undecided if she would file formal complaints.

Egualdo said they will release Dalid from detention when the complainant failed to file formal complaint after 36 hours since the suspect was arrested on Tuesday dawn.
