Around 2,000 drug personalities from Ozamiz City have benefited from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) “Aftercare, Reintegration and Transformation Support for Recovering Drug Dependents.”

Sean Pamela Balais, program coordinator for northern Mindanao, reported that the initial focus of DSWD’s aftercare program in the region is Ozamiz City because of the favorable response both from the city government and the drug dependents themselves.

She said the DSWD regional office has poured P3.7 million in Ozamiz City for the purpose.

Balais said the next phase of the program in Region 10 would be in Cagayan de Oro City, starting next quarter.

“Cagayan De Oro City is also sincere in its drug rehab program,” she said.
