In a press conference yesterday, Docallos said the media outfits are not barred from reporting news even with the declaration of martial law.

However, Docallos reiterated the need for “responsible reporting.”

Docallos said they have monitored fake news on social media and expressed concern that these might sow panic among the people.

Amo man gud namatikman nga ang spread sa information is so fast labi na sa Facebook. Sometimes (it) is advantageous and there are also disadvantages,” Docallos said.

Docallos also pointed out experiences in the past where news reports endangered ongoing police and military operations.

Posting of locations of police and military installations, including checkpoints is an example, she said.

Mao ni ang among one of the appeal sa media nga unta ang spread sa information helpful sa atong fight against sa terrorism,” Docallos said.
