POLICE director for northern Mindanao Chief Supt. Agripino Javier ordered police offices throughout Region 10 to field officers to areas near schools that would open today.

Javier said the police officers are to assist teachers and students, and ensure their safety and  security during the start of the classes today.

He also ordered the police offices to help in managing vehicular traffic flows.

Chief Insp. Mardy Hortillosa, spokesperson of the Cagayan  de Oro City Police Office, said the local police has a security plan for today’s opening of classes.

“Sigi na namo ni gihimo, mao nga dali nalang para sa amo ang pag-implement ani nga  plano,” Hortillosa said.

Camp Alagar  spokesman Supt. Lemuel  Gonda said principals, faculty and staff members, and guards can help in crime prevention in campuses.
