VILLANUEVA, Misamis Oriental — The increasing numbers of wounded in action soldiers in the ongoing Marawi crisis in Lanao del Sur has prompted the stakeholders in Villanueva town to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Jacobi Carbons Philippines Inc. in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross, local government unit of Villanueva and army’s 58th Infantry Battalion (58IB) launched a bloodletting activity as part of their social responsibility held at Jacobi Carbons plant at Barangay San Martin, Villanueva. The activity was also participated by the medical personnel of the Red Cross, employees, and staff of Jacobi Carbons where a total of 21,600cc of blood was donated.

The event has a theme ‘Sagip Sundalo’ that aims to save the lives of soldiers who showed heroism and valor to defend the country from the ISIS-Maute terrorist group in Marawi city.

Jacobi Carbons Philippines, Inc. was established in the first quarter of 2012 and was engaged in purchasing of coconut shell charcoal (CSC) from local farmers, granulated them to required sizes and prepared them for export to its affiliate companies in India, Vietnam and Sri Lanka after a thorough quality control process.
