CRACKS in the administration of Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano became more prominent on Monday as he frowned over what he said was the “humiliation” of capitol department heads by some members of the provincial board.

In an Aug. 2 dispatch, the capitol’s press office stated that Emano was disappointed because a “few members of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan” supposedly humiliated his subordinates during a public consultation on the proposed amendment of the province’s revenue code  at the Misamis Oriental 1 Rural Electric Service Cooperative gymnasium in Laguindingan on Friday.

Emano did not elaborate and his information office did not name the legislators who supposedly humiliated his subordinates.

But during the Laguindingan public hearing, Vice Gov. Jose Mari Pelaez complained about how it was taking months for the provincial treasurer’s office to release claims like his reimbursements.

Pelaez, who is serving a second office term, and Emano were running mates in the 2013 and 2016 elections. Lately, the two officials have been observed to have been keeping a distance from each other.

Emano, in the capitol news release, reminded the provincial board of the separation of powers between the executive and “judiciary” branches. (The provincial board is a legislative branch.)

“Pipila ka miyembro sa lehislatibo misulay ug pakauwaw sa akong mga department heads. Komedya o dili, direct o indirect, isip ulo sa ehikutibo, ikasakit ko kung pakauwawan ang akong mga hepe sa departamento. Gipahinumduman ko lang sila nga aduna kami separate powers kon co-equal kami,” Emano said. (herbie gomez)
