THE city council has supported a move to make the Department of Public Works and Highways responsible for a number of “city roads” here.

The city council approved Resolution no. 12795-2017, favoring the conversion of the “city roads” into “national roads.”

The conversion would make the DPWH responsible for the roads, including their drainage systems.

These include Don Apolinar Velez St. stretching to Macasandig and Indahag, Velez Street-Carmen, including the Pelaez Bridge, up to the airport road, junction Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro-Iligan City-Osmeña Extension-Port Road, junction Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro-Iligan City-Agora-port road, junction airport road-Upper Balulang-Macasandig-Velez Street;

Velez Street-JR Borja-Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro-Iligan road, junction Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro-Iligan City-Corrales St. North Divisoria Road, Junction Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro-Iligan-Cugman-Malasag road and Abellanosa Service Road-Capistrano Street-Carmen-Patag road.

The resolution was endorsed by the city council’s committees on subdivision chaired by Councilor Dometilo Acenas Jr., and the committee on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya. (clo)
