At least 71 operators and drivers of public utility vehicles attended the weekly refresher seminar on traffic initiated by the City Council committee on public utilities in coordination with the Roads and Traffic Administration this week.
Participants heard the presentation of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, RTA, and the Cagayan de Oro Campaigners for Road Courtesy and Discipline on various topics such as traffic rules and regulations and salient provisions of the city’s Traffic Code, among others.
Councilor Lao said the weekly activity has been launched to keep drivers and operators well-informed and updated on traffic rules and regulations.
He said the refresher course also aims to solicit their cooperation and help in maintaining traffic in the city.
“If Davao can, Cagayan de Oro can,” Lao said, as he enjoins drivers to do their share to solve the city’s traffic problem.
A total of 264 drivers and operators have already attended the seminar. (clo)
