The RTA executed its plan at around 7 am Tuesday, opening  JR Borja St. — from Capt. Vicente Roa St. up to Gen. Rojas St. — to two-way vehicular traffic.

RTA assistant department head Nonito Oclarit said the move would allow motorists coming from JR Borja street-extension to go straight to Divisoria instead of going around via Yacapin St.

“Moderitso na lang siya,” said Oclarit.

At the same time, the RTA also turned JR Borja St., from Capt.Vicente Roa  St. to Rojas St., into a no-parking area.

Oclarit said the new traffic scheme is based on an executive order issued by Mayor Oscar Moreno.

But Oclarit said the RTA could still fine-tune the new traffic set-up, explaining that the flow of vehicular traffic around Cogon area up to Divisoria was still under observation.

“So far, maayo man ang resulta. Kon magpadayon kini nga maayo ang resulta, ato na kining padayonon nga scheme,” he said.
