THE scattered rainshowers  in northern Mindanao, Caraga and Davao are due to the easterlies affecting the country. In fact, most parts of the country are affected, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

The state weather bureau said that aisde from the easterlies, the northeast monsoon is also affecting northern Luzon.

Also being affected are the provinces of eastern Samar, Leyte and Bohol where scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms have been forecast due to the easterlies.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon is affecting Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos region, Cordillera, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country have been experiencing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms. (pna)
