Chief Supt. Timoteo Pacleb, police director for northern Mindanao, called it “fake news.”

A copy of the spurious document that had the name of Camp Alagar intelligence head Supt. Rodolfo Hernandez and his alleged signature made it appear that the Isis were planning attacks in populated areas, including malls and plazas, in the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Davao, Manila, Cebu, Iloilo, and other places in northern and southern Luzon.

It showed the letterhead of Camp Alagar, and it had the subject: “Conduct validation re Isis bombers, and expert bomb maker.”

The fake memo also made it look like the provincial and city police directors were directed to validate a text message about terrorists from Indonesia, who posed as fishermen, who came to Mindanao to launch attacks.

Supt. Lemuel Gonda, Camp Alagar spokesman, said Hernandez’s signature was forged in the supposed Feb. 27, 2018 inter-office memorandum intended for directors of provincial and city police offices in the region.

“Gikopya lang ang iyang pirma. Pero dili gyud  siya ang  nagpirma sa maong fake memo,” said Supt. Gonda.

“It is purely fabricated and maliciously publicized to malign not only PRO-10 but the entire PNP,” said a fuming Pacleb.

Supt. Gonda said the cybercrime unit in Camp Alagar were working to identify and catch the author of the FB post.

He said whoerver authored it would likely be charged in court.

At the very least, “that’s a case for alarm and scandal,” said Gonda.

“Kamulo nami imbestigar ug pag-determine kung kinsay nag-post adto nga impormasyon. Makahatag tog kalisang sa mga katawhan,” Gonda said.
