Iligan City — The person who has been accused of killing a Lanao del Norte town mayor in middle of last week has surrendered to the police.
City director Senior Supt. Leony Roy Ga said Jabor Tago, along with brother Jameloding, are now in police custody in this city after they gave themselves up last Wednesday in connection with the killing of former Pantar mayor Exchan Libona.
Libona was ambushed Dec. 29, 2016. The warrant of arrest was signed May 8 of this year by Judge Silvestre Orejana of Regional Trial Court of Lanao Norte-Branch 5 for murder against Tago after there the prosecution determined probable cause.
The two are awaiting the result of the motion to post bail, hence, their custody by the police here.
