Police arrested the suspect in Kauswagan on Sunday.

SPO3 Flora Eusebio of the Cogon police identified the suspect as 24-year-old Jeffrey Luntad of Zone 1, Barangay Kauswagan, this city.

Eusebio said Luntad confessed to taking advantage of the teenager from Xavier Estates at a vacant lot on Aguinaldo Street in Barangay 32 on Saturday night.

Police said the victim is a special child.

Eusebio said the victim told her that she and Luntad befriended her on Facebook, and what followed was a series of phone calls.

Luntad also told the police he and the teenager frequently communicated.

“Hangtud nagsabot mi nga magkita mi sa usa ka lugar para manuroy mi. Nagkita mi sa 7 Eleven atbang Xavier (University),” Luntad said.

Eusebio said the victim told her that she was surprised when the suspect kissed and held her hands during their meeting.

“Nanglakaw dayon daw sila padulong sa lugar kung asa nahitabo ang pagpanglugos,” she said.

She said the victim tried to stop the suspect as he was removing her pants but he insisted and overpowered her. After the abuse, the suspect then left the teenager behind, Eusebio said.

Police said the teenager’s family was keen on filing a rape case against Luntad who has been placed under detention.
