THE water supply in western parts of the city and Opol town in Misamis Oriental dropped again yesterday because a pump at the Baungon, Bukidnon plant of the Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water Inc. bogged down for the nth time – again.

Ladelle Sagrado, spokesperson of the Cagayan de Oro Water District, said Cobi claimed that one of its pumps was shutdown because of a broken impeller shaft.

As a result, Cobi’s supply to the COWD was reduced from 60 million liters and day to 40 million liters.

COWD general manager Bienvenido Batar Jr. said Cobi has yet to give a timetable but “in our experience, this should take about three days.”

Consumers in Lumbia, Upper Carmen,  Bulua, Patag, Igpit and other areas in Opol, would be inconvenienced by low pressure, and have been advised by COWD to store water.
