MALLS and department stores in the city have extended their business hours ahead of Christmas day.
Jose Edgardo Uy, chairman of the local price coordinating council, said the establishments have been opening their doors from 10 am to 10 pm during weekdays and 10 am to 12 midnight during the weekend since last week. This would be the case until the end of the year.
Uy said the decision to extend business hours was in response to the request of the city council’s committee on trade and commerce chaired by Councilor George Goking.
Earlier, Goking requested mall owners in the city to extend business hours to give last-minute shoppers time to buy for the traditional Noche Buena on Christmas Eve and Media Noche on New Year’s Eve. (Nitz Arancon)
