NORTHERN Mindanao had three more victims of firecrackers this year compared to the number of victims in the same period last year, a Department of Health-10 official bared yesterday.
According to Dr. David Mendoza, chief of the DOH-10’s Research Epidemiology Surveillance and Disaster Response Unit, they monitored 13 firecracker victims from Dec. 21, 2018 to Jan 6, this year.
In last year’s revelries, Mendoza said they monitored only 10 firecracker victims in the entire region.
The 13 firecrackerselated incidents were from Bukidnon (two), Lanao del Norte (one), Misamis Occidental (one), Misamis Oriental (one), and seven in Cagayan de Oro City. The 13th case is the victim of a stray bullet in Iligan City.
