AUTHORITIES arrested a 23-year-old college student during a buy-and-bust operation on in Barangay Carmen, this city, on Thursday.
Senior Insp. Teodoro de Oro, Macasandig police chief, identified the suspect as Rodri Alvaro of Zayas, Carmen, a second year Hotel and Restaurant Management student at Liceo de Cagayan University.
Alvaro was arrested at around 11 am during an undercover operation.
Police said the suspect was caught with a P500-marked money and half a kilo of dried marijuana leaves.
De Oro said Alvaro was unarmed and immediately gave himself up to the authorities.
In an initial investigation the Police said the marijuana leaves came from Cebu City and was intended to be sold in Cagayan de Oro.
Authorities said they were looking into the possible links to Alvaro to three call center workers earlier caught with illegal drugs.
Alvaro has been detained at the Macasandig police mini-cell pending the filing of charges.
