Egay Uy .

WHEN I reopened my Gold Star Daily column at https://mindanao goldstardaily.com/sex-in-the-movie-houses/ captioned, “Sex in the movie houses” as I was writing this, it indicated that it was viewed or read for more than 1,820 times already. This is quite reassuring that people read my columns, but sadly, the number of views reached this high probably because of the subject matter.

Sex really does sell. It sells to the reader, and it certainly sells to the doer of the act. There is no doubt therefore why the couple that we chanced upon in a mini-movie house did their intimate activity in that public place which makes the act wrong it having been done in the wrong place, to say the least.

Then there was this post on Facebook about a photo taken inside a traditional movie house where what appears to be a woman in white dress is depicted as sitting on top of another.  The photograph shows no other movie patron hence it could have given the couple the opportunity to do what appears to be a sexual act.

Traditional movie houses, and mini-movie houses or movie cafes, as some would rather call them, are public places.  They are places that are made available to the public under certain conditions, which necessarily includes the payment of the required fees. These places have a specific purpose which is to view and enjoy the movies, not to enjoy one another sexually.

While motels, inns, hotels, and similar accommodation establishments are also open to the public, movie houses are different in that the latter are places of entertainment where even children are admitted. The former on the other hand are places which are more private and exclusive to those who avail of them.  Whatever you do in there is you own private affair.

The Chinese president may have sold an idea to his counterpart in the Philippine Government that the fish that are found in the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines could be fish originating from China hence Chinese fishermen will have to be allowed to harvest in Philippine waters. And a comedian-turned-senator was quick in illustrating this.

He said, and I do not even have to paraphrase what he uttered here because it is all over the social media and the news, that if we have to be technical about it, Filipinos cannot and should not complain if Chinese fishing vessels harvest what Filipinos say are our resources. And he put is more idiotically – because those fish could be coming from China while fish from our country could be swimming all the way to China.

Oh mhy ghad!
