Barangay Chairman Wenefredo Niez of Palao, this city, told Gold Star Daily that charged before the court with him are the following:  Marianita Paradela of Buruun, Leonilo Laurete of Maria Cristina, Marcelino L. Gellica of Suarez, Jimmy Sale of Tambacan, Anton Pacana of Poblacion, Felipe Villaver of Santiago, Regino Ocana of Luinab, and Veronico Echavez of Hinaplanon.

He said the charges against them were almost identical as these were about non-segregation of garbage and in his case, burning of garbage.

He said that so far, the cases against Felipe Villaver, Regino Ocana, and Veronico Echavez had been dismissed.

He mentioned that the cmplaints against them were lodged by one Pio Bacong, acting on an Executive Order of the city mayor.

He added that he had filed his counter affidavit and the Prosecutor has set his appearance on July 4, 2019.

He said in his counter-affidavit that the garbage in his barangay has been segregated and are ready for collection which is the primary responsibility of the city government.

He denied that his barangay burned garbage as he said that they bring 20 trucks to their Material Recovery Facilities daily and the city government has only four garbage trucks.

He concluded that incidentally, he, together with Chairman Vernonico Echavez ran in the opposition last May while all the other accused were known to have supported  the opposition.
