WHEN a head of office whines that his people do not coordinate with him and among themselves and that functions are being performed by the various units without any coordination with one another, that head of office is merely admitting his incompetence to lead his organization.

He is missing the point that what his people are doing is a reflection of his incompetence and substandard style of management – management by patronage and management by stroke of luck.

That head of office has to be taught that lack of coordination can decrease productivity, complicate processes and delay the completion of tasks.  According to smallbusiness.chron.com, in order to coordinate the efforts of an entire organization, the organization requires a systematic integration of a process that creates accountability within.

Certainly, one of the signs that an organization lacks coordination is delay and it causes that head of office’s organization to become ineffective.  Delay creates unreliability which can be prevented if the head of office knows how to control and properly manage work in progress.

The smallbusiness.chron.com continues that another sign of lack of coordination within an organization is redundancy. With redundancy, an organization will spend double the effort, material, and time to produce the same results. Ergo, several people end up doing the same things.

And I say, that an organization that suffers from lack of coordination becomes weak, and a weak organization can never give justice to the organization’s reason for being.  And worse, it cannot give justice to the salary grades of its incompetent leaders.

Smallbusiness.chron.com continues that when information is not readily available as needed within the organization (by those who need it), the lack of information can create a cascading effect that will cause damage.  But one problem that can be avoided is when the organization’s supposed manager knows how and when to share information within the entire organization, not just within his select, also incompetent, few.

Instead of blaming others and pretending to know the solutions, the incompetent head of office should be man enough to admit their shortcomings for the betterment of his organization.

Your organization is not performing as it should?  Stop blaming others!
