Students of Inawayan National High School (INHS) can now enjoy a more immersive learning experience after AboitizPower subsidiary Therma South, Inc. (TSI) and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. recently turned over two fully equipped science laboratories to the institution.

TSI, in partnership with Aboitiz Foundation, refurbished and turned  two classrooms into science laboratories complete with equipment, including compound microscopes, centrifuge machines, resonance tube apparatus, alcohol lamps, beakers, and flasks among others.

“This science laboratory turnover is a concrete step towards our accreditation to offer STEM stream to students. With Aboitiz Power’s help, we can now widen our school’s senior high school stream offerings, and give our students more options and opportunities to build a better future for themselves,” INHS Principal Marcela Sacay said during the turnover ceremony on Feb. 15.

With a student population of around 1,200, INHS is the only public high school in TSI’s host community of Barangay Inawayan, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

Last year, TSI also donated to the school technical-vocational equipment for their Shielded Metal Arc Welding, among others. (pr)
