A FAMILY of seven was rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center here after a public bus rammed the rear of their utility vehicle on the highway in Logilo, Alubijid town in Misamis Oriental on Sunday.

Two of those injured were children.

PO1 Alfe Fabrecante of the Alibujid police identified the victims as  Richard Sr., Rochie, Miriam, Rey, Princess, and children Michael and AJ, all surnamed Villastique.

Only the driver of the family’s grey Multicab, Richxam Villastique, was unhurt.

Fabrecante said the Villastiques had just come from a beach resort in Luyong Bonbon, Opol town, and were on their way back to Barangay Kalatkat, Alubijid Misamis, when the accident happened.

He said the utility vehicle was about to turn left when the bus, bearing license plates KWA-250, accidentally hit its rear. The bus was driven by Mark Anthony Sacay.

Fabrecante said Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. promised to shoulder the costs of the family’s hospitalization and medicines, and vehicle repair.

“Settle na ang tanan kay wala na may interest ang mga victims nga mo-file ug reklamo,” he said.
