Adiong said the project costed roughly P32 million which they sourced from the General Appropriations fund last year.

N.B. Salbo Firm constructed the project while Department of Public Works and Highways 10 supervised its implementation.

Adiong said the bridge will provide traders can now easily transport their goods and services to Marawi City and nearby municipalities which will help in the local economies.

Vice Mayor Lampa Pandi of Poona Bayabao town said the new bridge replaced a dilapidated 50-year old bridge which was made of steel. He added that accidents happened on the old bridge due to its worn-out state which sometimes resulted to family feuds and disputes.

Engr. Mickey Maca-bantog of DPWH 10 said Vice Governor Mamintal Bombit Alonto Adiong and his brother, Congressman Ansauddin, were the ones who requested for the project from the national government back in 2014.
