THE Sangguniang Kabataan chairman of Barangay 32 yesterday emerged as the new leader of the city’s youth federation.

John Michael Seno will automatically sit as a city councilor as representative of Cagayan de Oro’s SK Federation in the local legislature.

Seno beat Dana Villoso, Barangay Puntod’s SK chair, garnering 41 votes against Villoso’s 33 votes.

Mayor Oscar Moreno, who is said to have supported Seno’s bid,  quickly administered the oath of Seno and other newly elected SK Federation officials.

The other Federation officials are SK chairpersons Chuck Yanez of Balulang, vice president; Sassy Martil of Tablon, secretary; Herbe Blanela of Gusa, treasurer; Cary Echem of Barangay 19, auditor; Zhang Mendoza of Tagpangi, public relations officer; and Clark Tejada of Barangay 14, sergeant-at-arms.

The election of officers for the SK federation for the city was held at the Searsolin compound in Upper Carmen. It was supervised by the Department of Interior and Local Government in the city under Jane Docalla. (cong corrales)
