THE Court of Appeals yesterday issued another 60-day temporary restraining order against 11 more dismissal orders by the ombudsman against Mayor Oscar Moreno and former members of the capitol’s Bids and Awards Committee in connection with the case filed by Engr. Antonio Nuñez.

Moreno was not in city hall but city administrator Dionne Gersana received the 22-page CA order on his behalf at around 6:15 pm. It was signed by Associate Justices Louis Acosta, Edgardo Camello and Oscar Badelles.

The TRO stopped the interior department from serving the dismissal orders dated March 14, May 5,  June 1, June 8, June 14, June 19, and June 23,  2017. There were two separate June 14 orders, three June 19 orders, and two June 23 orders.

So far, 22 ombudsman rulings against Moreno in connection with Nuñez’s 24 administrative cases  have been stopped by the CA through separate TROs. The ombudsman has also ruled to slap Moreno with perpetual disqualification from holding public office, and to bring him to the Sandiganbayan.

Nuñez has accused Moreno of causing the capitol lease of heavy equipment without bidding from 2007 to 2012. (nitz arancon)
