THE committee of the whole city council on Wednesday approved Mayor Oscar Moreno’s proposed P5.8-billion city hall budget for 2018
Councilor Teodulfo Lao Jr., committee chairman, announced this after councilors concluded the marathon hearings on the proposed budget that started late last month.
The proposed budget would be brought by Lao to the plenary session of the city council for the final green light.
Lao said he still expects the city council to carefully look into into statements of income and expenditure of the Moreno administration, city hall’s actual tax collections, and programs and projects covered by the local government’s 20 percent development fund, among others.
He said he also anticipates a discussion on city hall’s capital outlay during the plenary.
Lao said he expects the 2018 budget of city hall to be approved by the city before yearend.
