ANOTHER booster pump of the Cagayan de Oro Water District — the seventh so far since late April and this time, in its eastern service area — bogged down.

COWD did not give details on exactly how the breakdown of its inline boosting pump at Paglaum, Camaman-an, would affect eastern parts of the city but it assured, “Water delivery will be facilitated.”

It also said the breakdown caused an unscheduled water supply interruption in Paglaum, and that “the estimated completion date of the emergency repair is on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.”

But Ladelle Sagrado, COWD spokesperson, downplayed the effects of  the breakdown, saying it would only adversely affect Paglaum in Camaman-an.

Earlier, at least six COWD booster pumps bogged down on two separate occasions in Barangay Balulang, resulting in low water pressure and water supply disruption in the COWD’s western service area for days. Some areas had lost water supply for weeks, inconveniencing thousands of water consumers.

Engr. Bienvenido  Batar, COWD general manager, water consumers in eastern parts of the city need not worry because it would only affect an area in Camaman-an.

But the Gold Star Daily learned that the breakdown caused a water supply disruption in three relocation areas in Barangay Camaman-an: the Pagla-um “piso-piso” relocation site, another one in Sitio Pangandoy, and “Sendong” housing beneficiaries in Verjaya.

Walay problema ang atong water supply sa eastern part sa Cagayan de Oro, from Divisoria to Bugo, gawas lang anang  mga relocation project sa Sitio Paglaum sa Barangay Camaman-an nga  apiktado sila sa atong nada-ot nga booster pump,” said Batar.

He said COWD technicians were doing their best to fix the booster pump by Wednesday.
