To prevent untoward incidents caused by hazard trees, the City Council of Cagayan de Oro during its regular session adopted Resolution No. 12421-2016.
The resolution requests the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) to authorize the city government through the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (Clenro) to cut or fell selected trees at Divisoria and Duaw Park, which are already tilting or tipping.
Legislators are requesting that the timber be donated to the city government to be made into chairs or other office or school furniture.
Councilor Zaldy Ocon, chair of the committee on environment and natural resources, is the proponent of the resolution.
With this, as proposed by Councilor Lordan Suan, legislators also adopted Resolution No. 12422-2016, requesting Clenro to plant trees on the same location if and when the trees will be totally cut down. (clo)
