Gov. Emano sends aid to Barra, Opol fire victims

MISAMIS Oriental Gov. Bambi Emano ordered the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Maagement Office  (PDRRMO) to provide immediate assistance to fire victims of barangay Barra, Opol town as soon as reports of the incident reached his office, Monday.

The PDRRMO was also joined by a team of health and social workers who were also sent by the Governor with orders to provide all aid necessary to the victims.

“The priority is to keep all victims safe. I asked our personnel on the field to immediately submit to my office a complete list of the victims and their priority needs,” Gov. Emano said.

Initial reports received by the Governor said no one was seriously injured.

“That very morning I had the personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection attending our weekly flag raising ceremony where I called them ‘heroes of the new millennium’. No one was reported injured; so I guess elements from our BFP must had something to do with it,” Gov. Emano said. (ADVT)
