In a news conference at city hall on Monday, DPWH project engineer Leoward Pecore said the major drainage project is 90 percent completed.

The project was started in Feb. 26 and is scheduled to be completed by Jan. 25 next year.

Of the 4.46-kilometer drainage system, some 3.3 kilometers were already completed, Pecore said.

He said appealed for patience and understanding, saying that the city would likely experience slow vehicular traffic flows and traffic jams especially in Agora in Lapasan, Carmen, Kauswagan and Camaman-an. He said DPWH is still upgrading the drainage systems and roads in these barangays.

“I hope that the public would be considerate. We can assure them that we are doing the best that we can to deliver the services that are needed,” Pecore said.
