MISAMIS Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano has agreed to lead the conduct of a joint survey on Aug. 31 on a land disputed by the New Indigenous Barangay Plaridel Farmers Association (Nibpfa) and the Crow Resources Development Corporation (CRDC) in Barangay Plaridel, Claveria town, this province.
This decision was reached after a dialogue between Nibpfa and CRDC on Saturday at the Provincial Training Center, this city.
Emano called the dialogue after Nibpfa filed a complaint against CRDC for encroaching in the land they have been tilling.
On July 12, some 50 families were uprooted from the disputed land when CRDC demolished their houses after winning the case of forcible entry in a Jasaan Municipal Trial Court.
According to Rof Ebale, Nibpfa vice president, their organization have claimed 208 hectares of the disputed land before CRDC, which is a contract grower of pineapples for Del Monte Philippines.
Emano said during the dialogue that the joint survey on the disputed land should settle the boundary issue between the two claimants.
