ONE who goes around places in Tarlac, my home province, the place where I spent my youth and where I grew up, will surely be amazed of the tag that it is an amalgamation of varied cultures.

Indeed, Tarlac is noted for its patriots, or those who truly served their province and their country well, but it is also bedeviled with its own share of traitors — those who served only their personal, family, and political interests, to the extent of kowtowing to their foreign masters and imperiling the rights and welfare of their comprovincianos, and of the nation as well.

Who are the patriots? Who are the traitors? Oh well. I am sure that even non-Tarlacquenos, or those who neither were born in, nor stayed or lingered in Tarlac, know who they are.

We wrote about this already, highlighting the point that even God hates “istambays” or the loiterers, the idle hands, and all who do nothing good while drinking along streets and thoroughfares, naked and boisterous.

Arresting these “istambays,” as what the police did subsequently, was an act of police power of the State, recognized in the Constitution and in our existing laws. It is time we put discipline back among many Filipinos, and do not allow them to continue lording it over our highways, our alleys, our communities. We should bring back peace and safety among our people, among the women, and among the kids, especially.

The ordinary citizens have their rights too, particularly the rights to a safe and peaceful environment, and the right against their fellow Filipinos whose minds are now controlled by the devil.

Congratulations, President Duterte and the PNP for implementing this project with dispatch and determination.

This is what we have been saying all along. Many Filipinos now find it easy to be corrupt and devilish, because they know that corruption and evil give them easy access to money and, of course, power.

Even the most saintly Filipino couldn’t stay saintly for a long time — at some point in his life, he succumbs to corruption. Why is this happening? The answer is easy: Filipinos have truly strayed away from God, no longer listening to, and no longer obeying, His commands.

This is happening, and will continue to happen, because Filipinos no longer read the Bible, and therefore are no longer with God. The faith of many has become a “fake and spurious” faith, one that is shaped by teachers who say only the things purported believers want to hear. May God have mercy on all Filipinos.
